She received her Cosmetology license in 1977 at 20 and worked behind the chair for years. Then earned her Arts and Science Degree and a Teaching Certificate for Cosmetology at 29, from San Jacinto Jr. in Houston, where she also taught part time, before coming home to Austin in ’91.

In Austin she taught at Vogue Cosmetology School and was a Salon Educator For Lanza product company serving Central Texas.
Missing the excitement of being with clients, actually cutting and styling hair, she went back behind the chair in ’93 and has never regretted it.
